Yayasan WWRC has donated RM600,000 to six charitable organizations during the 12th annual Yayasan WWRC Charity Tournament held at Kota Permai Golf & Country Club in Shah Alam. The foundation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting education, welfare, and vulnerable communities through the event, which took place recently.

The contributions, each amounting to RM100,000, were presented at a dinner following the tournament. Recipients included SJK (C) Lee Min, SJK (C) Yoke Nam, SJK (C) San Min, Angels Care Centre in Negeri Sembilan, SK St. Paul in Seremban, Kiwanis Klang, Kiwanis KKJF, TiRatana Welfare Society Kuala Lumpur, and Suriana Welfare Society. Additional aid was provided to other underprivileged individuals and groups based on identified needs.

WWRC Group South-East Asia chief executive officer Teoh Weng Chai highlighted the tournament’s role as a vital platform for the foundation’s charitable efforts since its inception in 2013. He emphasized that all expenses related to the foundation’s philanthropic activities have always been covered internally, ensuring that 100% of funds raised go directly to charitable causes. Teoh also underscored the foundation’s broader contributions, noting that RM1.817 million was disbursed to schools, welfare bodies, and disadvantaged communities in 2025, with RM1.94 million allocated in 2026.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke, who officiated the dinner, praised WWRC for its consistent dedication to philanthropy. "WWRC raises more than RM1 million every year for charity, with all proceeds channelled directly to those in need. This is a commendable initiative that deserves recognition and emulation," he said. Loke also encouraged ongoing support from sponsors and donors to help extend the impact of charitable organizations across more communities.

The evening featured a charity auction of fine wines, artworks, and other collectibles, as well as performances by singers contributing to the fundraising effort. Among the distinguished guests were Seputeh Member of Parliament Teresa Kok, Subang Jaya assemblywoman Michelle Ng, and Kota Kemuning assemblyman Bakhtiar Mohd Nor.

Over its 12-year history, the WWRC Charity Tournament has grown into a major philanthropic event, attracting corporate partners, sponsors, and the golfing community to support charitable initiatives. The foundation reiterated its commitment to expanding its social outreach in the coming years.
