Yemen’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Afrah Al Zouba, emphasized the longstanding historical ties between Yemen and Kuwait as a foundation for enhancing bilateral cooperation during a recent visit to Kuwait. Speaking on September 3, 2026, Dr. Al Zouba delivered a message from Dr. Rashad Al Alimi, Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, highlighting the shared commitment of both leaderships to strengthen the relationship.

Dr. Al Zouba underscored Kuwait’s significant role in Yemen’s development efforts over the years and expressed optimism about establishing a cooperative model that links Yemen’s stability and growth to the broader security and prosperity of the Gulf region. She noted that discussions with representatives from the Kuwait Fund for Development reflected mutual intentions to resume financing key projects aimed at supporting Yemen’s recovery and development.
