The annual Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival commenced yesterday in the Yorkshire Dales village, attracting visitors with a display of imaginative scarecrow figures crafted by local residents. Now in its 32nd year, the two-week event features characters ranging from Spider-Man and Paddington to Jaws, Wallace and Gromit, and Dracula.

Villagers create the straw figures, which are placed throughout Kettlewell for visitors to discover. Organizers have also arranged for refreshments, including homemade cakes, with proceeds from sales directed to local community causes.

Festival organizers noted that the event continues to expand each year, driven by enthusiastic participation from the village. The ongoing community effort not only provides entertainment but also supports charitable activities in the area.
