DORAL, Fla. — Cameron Young secured his third PGA Tour victory since August by winning the Cadillac Championship with a commanding six-shot lead over Scottie Scheffler. Young completed the tournament at 19-under-par 269, closing with a 4-under 68 on the final day.
Young started strong with a 64 on the Blue Monster course and maintained his lead throughout the event, becoming the first wire-to-wire winner at Doral since Andy Bean achieved the feat in 1977. His consistent play left little opportunity for competitors, including world No. 1 Scheffler, to challenge his position atop the leaderboard.
Highlighting his week was a moment of sportsmanship when Young called a one-shot penalty on himself after noticing his ball had moved slightly on the second fairway. Despite the setback, he managed to make par on the hole, demonstrating poise and composure that defined his performance throughout the tournament.
This victory adds to Young’s growing resume, which already includes a win at The Players Championship. His success over the past nine months signals his emergence as a prominent player on the PGA Tour.
