A motorcyclist in his 20s died in a collision with a car on the Sunshine Coast on Saturday morning. The crash occurred at 9:12 a.m. on Aura Boulevard near the Baringa Tavern.
Emergency services responded quickly, including the deployment of a helicopter. Despite resuscitation efforts at the scene, the rider was pronounced dead. Reports indicate the motorcyclist, believed to be 25 years old, had purchased the bike earlier that same day and was riding just ahead of family members when the accident happened.
Preliminary information suggests the motorcyclist collided side-on with a vehicle driven by a provisional license holder. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
