Trading activity on the Yangon Stock Exchange (YSX) reached K5.16 billion in August 2026, marking a significant increase from the previous month, according to official YSX data. The exchange saw more than two million shares change hands across its eight listed companies during the month.
The YSX, established in 2015, currently features eight public firms on its trading platform. These include First Myanmar Investment (FMI), Myanmar Thilawa SEZ Holdings (MTSH), Myanmar Citizens Bank (MCB), First Private Bank (FPB), TMH Telecom Public Co Ltd (TMH), the Ever Flow River Group Public Co Ltd (EFR), Amata Holding Public Co Ltd (AMATA), and Myanmar Agro Exchange Public Co Ltd (MAEX).
Ever Flow River Group Public Co Ltd led the trading volume, with 1,777,433 shares valued at K3.2 billion. It was followed by Myanmar Thilawa SEZ Holdings, which traded 64,069 shares worth over K565 million. First Myanmar Investment recorded the exchange of 27,339 shares valued at approximately K493.8 million, while First Private Bank’s 65,002 shares were traded at K439 million.
Other notable activity included Myanmar Agro Exchange’s 61,972 shares valued at K412 million, Myanmar Citizens Bank’s 2,435 shares worth K31.6 million, Amata Holding’s 2,081 shares at K8.5 million, and TMH Telecom’s 1,094 shares valued at K3.97 million.
The total trading value in August increased by more than K3 billion compared to July 2026, when the exchange recorded K2.16 billion in stock trading value with 262,340 shares traded. This surge reflects growing investor interest and liquidity in Myanmar’s capital market as the YSX continues its development.
