Throughout the summer of 2026, the UK experienced its hottest recorded temperatures, accompanied by widespread wildfires both domestically and globally. In response, Polanski advocated for increased taxation on oil and gas companies to finance climate adaptation measures. His proposals include investments in home cooling systems, enhancements to public spaces to better withstand heat, and the public ownership of water utilities to secure more equitable resource management.

More recently, Polanski has turned his attention to the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence data centres. Highlighting the substantial electricity and water consumption of these facilities amid growing climate pressures, he and the Green Party have called for a moratorium on all new data centre projects, except for small-scale, community-oriented operations.
