Kuwait's strategic national initiative to establish the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund has received significant financial support from major private sector contributors. Zain Group confirmed a $10 million donation to the fund, which is coordinated by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED). The fund is designed to enhance the country’s readiness and capacity to manage emergencies and exceptional situations.

Bader Al-Kharafi, Vice Chairman and Group CEO of Zain, emphasized the importance of this nationwide effort under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. He called for continued collaboration, fostering a culture of national responsibility, and strengthening partnerships across sectors to ensure the initiative's success.

In addition to Zain’s contribution, the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund acknowledged a combined donation of $6 million from BNK Holding and its subsidiaries, along with other prominent Kuwait-based companies. Gulf Cable and Electrical Industries Company donated $2 million, while Bader Nasser Al-Kharafi Group, Boursa Kuwait, Kuwait Clearing Company, and National Investments Company each contributed $1 million.

The donations aim to support Kuwait’s efforts to address damage to infrastructure caused by past aggression against the country, reflecting a broader commitment from both public and private entities to national resilience and recovery. The fund’s establishment signals a concerted move to bolster Kuwait’s strategic preparedness and response mechanisms in the face of future challenges.
