Zain has maintained its position as Kuwait’s top mobile network provider, earning 14 awards in Opensignal’s Q2 2026 Mobile Network Experience report, the highest number of honors among operators in the country. The company secured nine outright wins and five shared titles, leading across all measured categories in the study.
Opensignal, a global firm specializing in independent analysis of network performance and user experience, highlighted Zain’s consistent delivery of superior network quality. The report noted that Zain achieved the highest scores for speed, coverage, and consistency — key factors that impact consumer satisfaction with mobile connectivity.
Kuwaiti consumers using Zain recorded an overall download speed of 130.9 Mbps, which outpaces the nearest competitor by 10%. The operator’s 5G download speed was measured at 319.2 Mbps, representing a 29% advantage over other providers. These figures reflect substantial network improvements, with Zain’s overall download speed increasing by 53% over the last five quarters, rising from 85.9 Mbps in Q2 2025.
Zain also led in network reach, capturing the Coverage Award with a score of 8.10 out of 10, 19% higher than its closest rival. Its 5G coverage rating of 4.91 marked an 8% lead. This underlines the company’s commitment to delivering faster speeds and wider connectivity across Kuwait.
The operator distinguished itself in service consistency as well, winning both the Consistent Quality and 5G Consistent Quality awards exclusively, with margins of 29% and 26% ahead of competitors respectively. These awards measure the reliability of network performance during demanding activities such as high-definition video streaming, group calls, and web browsing.
Further recognition came with outright wins in performance-critical categories including Games, 5G Games, and 5G Video, demonstrating Zain’s strength in latency-sensitive applications like online gaming and video streaming. In other closely contested categories—Reliability, Upload Speed, 5G Upload Speed, Time on Network, and Video Experience—Zain was ranked among the top performers.
These results coincide with Zain’s recent rollout of 5G-Advanced technology across Kuwait, making it one of the first operators globally to offer nationwide commercial coverage of this next-generation network standard. The company continues to invest heavily in network capacity, technology upgrades, and intelligent infrastructure to meet increasing data demands and enhance the user experience.
Additionally, Opensignal’s Global Network Excellence Index ranked Kuwait sixth worldwide for download speed in Q2 2026, climbing five places from the previous quarter, reflecting the advancing quality of the country’s mobile market, with Zain playing a leading role.
Zain’s sustained investment and innovation aim to ensure that advancements in network technology translate directly into faster, more reliable, and consistently high-quality service for customers throughout Kuwait.
