A ceremony was held in Meelaungkon Village, Zalun Township, on August 2 to introduce the Village Development Plan (VDP) for the 2026-2027 financial year and to establish a project committee to oversee its implementation.

During the event, the Head of the Zalun Township Department of Rural Development, along with other officials, outlined the objectives, procedures, and anticipated benefits of the VDP. They also provided guidance on the rules and regulations governing the selection and formation of the Village Development Committee, as well as the responsibilities assigned to the village in executing the plan.

Following the briefing, villagers selected a seven-member Village Development Committee charged with managing and promoting development activities under the VDP framework. The committee will coordinate the use of support funds provided through the Village Development Plan to carry out various projects aimed at improving local infrastructure and livelihoods during the upcoming financial year.

The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to support rural communities by enabling them to plan and implement development activities tailored to their specific needs. The involvement of local villagers in committee formation and decision-making is intended to foster greater ownership and effectiveness in development outcomes.
