Actress Zendaya appeared in London on Monday to promote her upcoming film, The Odyssey, a new adaptation of Homer’s ancient Greek epic. The 29-year-old star portrayed the goddess Athena in the mythological blockbuster, which is scheduled for release on July 17.
Zendaya wore a white Jacquemus gown complemented by gold earrings inspired by 3,000-year-old Ziwiye medallions. These designs are part of a collection by London-based jeweler Barron, drawing on artistic motifs from the first millennium BC.
The film features an ensemble cast including Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway, Samantha Morton, Robert Pattinson, and Matt Damon. Zendaya’s husband, Tom Holland, who is also known for his role as Spider-Man, plays Telemachus, the son of Odysseus.
Directed by Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey reimagines the classic tale of adventure and heroism from Greek mythology, focusing on Odysseus’s long journey home following the Trojan War. The promotional event in London brought together several cast members ahead of the film’s international theatrical debut later this month.
