Gaza health officials reported that Israeli fire killed three people, including a woman and a child, and injured several others across the Palestinian territory on Monday. The fatalities occurred in different areas of Gaza, according to medical and rescue sources operating under Hamas authority.

In the southern city of Khan Yunis, officials at Nasser hospital received the body of an 11-year-old boy, Ismail Al-Bardawil, after Israeli tanks opened fire on tents set up for displaced persons in the Al-Mawasi area. Mahmoud Bassal, spokesman for Gaza’s civil defense agency, confirmed the child’s age and death.

Further north, Al-Awda hospital in central Gaza treated 31-year-old Fidaa Toutah, who died from wounds after being shot on Salah al-Din Street east of the Nuseirat refugee camp. Meanwhile, medical personnel at Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City reported the death of Mohsen Ahmed Bahjat, who was fatally shot in the head by a drone attack in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip.

Gaza’s civil defense agency, responsible for rescue operations, indicated that its teams transported nine wounded individuals to hospitals following Israeli fire in both Khan Yunis and the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

When contacted for comment, the Israeli military stated it was verifying the reports of casualties.

In October of the previous year, Israel agreed to a U.S.-brokered ceasefire but has since expanded its military presence further into Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has committed to continuing strikes against Hamas targets. The ongoing offensive has caused widespread destruction throughout Gaza and, according to Gaza’s health ministry—which is under Hamas control and whose figures are generally accepted as reliable by the United Nations—has resulted in over 73,900 deaths since the conflict escalated. The ministry also reports that Israeli strikes have caused more than 1,300 deaths since the ceasefire was established last year, while Israeli forces have recorded five fatalities among their ranks and one civilian contractor death during the same period.
